Oats Paniyaram Recipe | Easy Oats Paniyaram Using Idli Batter | Left over Idli Batter Recipe Ideas

Oats Paniyaram Recipe
Oats paniyaram is an Instant recipe that can be prepared using some left over idli/dosa batter. This oats paniyaram is a healthy, yummy and filling dish that can be served for breakfast, dinner or a perfect after school snack for kids. Here, I used store bought oat flour but you can make it home easily by grinding the rolled oats or quick cooking oats in blender and add it to the recipe. It is good to include oats and other whole grains in your daily meal. Whole grains are rich in fiber and low in calories and also they helps to reduce blood cholesterol and aids in good digestion. I use oats, millets, legumes and lentils in my daily cooking along with veggies.
Oats Paniyaram is one such healthy recipe with great taste. To make it even more tasty and crispy I also added some semolina/sooji/rava and rice flour to the batter. This oats paniyaram is not only my kids' favorite V also loved it a lot. If you don't have paniyam pan/Appam pan or Aebleskiver pan no worries, you can use your tawa/griddle or any wide pan and make it as thick pancake or Oats Oothappam. I tried that too, oats oothappam turned out soft and yummy. Now off to the recipe.

Not only for Diwali Celebration, whenever we visit her place she makes Thenkuzhal, Somas and Adhirasam for us in big buckets. We happily munch those yummy throughout our vacation, really my kids miss her and at least I am good at making those traditional snacks and savories for them. Barley Adai / Barley Lentils Crepes / Barley Paruppu Dosa

This is another Healthy Breakfast / Dinner recipe with more nutritional value, rich in protein, fiber, low calorie and filling recipe perfect to kick start anyone's day. Its good for diet and diabetic people too. This is one of my recent experiment with Pearl Barley and Mixed lentils combo. Though Pearl Barley is low in protein content compared to the whole grain barley but low in calorie and the addition of lentils like Green gram, Orange lentils/Masoor dal, Tuvar Dal, Channa dal, Urad dal makes it a protein packed meal. The Barley Adai / Dosa is a Instant version it doesn't require fermentation and can be cooked soon after grinding. The dosa turned so crispy and tasty and i served with Kadamba Chutney, which i posted last week. The combo was so good and my kids loved this Barley Adai so much. For a change from regular Dosa & Adai, try this healthy and tasty Barley Adai. And also Pearl Barley are very cheap, healthy and easy to use and also available in all supermarket & Departmental stores. Great nutrition in an less or cheap price.

Oats Pesarattu / Oats Pesarattu With Tofu Filling

Today's recipe is Andhra Special Pesarattu / Mung Bean Dosa, a traditional Andhra Breakfast recipe which is more nutritious and healthy. I added few more healthy stuffs like oats, brown rice & Tofu to make it even more healthy, protein & fiber rich breakfast with low carb and calories. I was looking for a protein rich and less carb recipes since my Fitness Consultant suggested to fill my meal platter with more protein, less carb food and add more veggies and fruits. Lunch will manage with cooked dals/legumes/egg and as usual veggies n fruits. Dinner n Breakfast is my big deal, can't get any idea on filling my breakfast platter with more protein n less carb. For low calorie and low carb foods you have tons of options like whole grain, millets but for protein, i don't get much so Friends do share your ideas n suggestion if u know protein rich n low carb recipes or veggies. Oats Brown Rice Adai / Oats Brown Rice Lentils Crepes

Today's recipe is a South Indian Special, Adai. Adai is nothing but a thick dosa/crepes made of mixed lentils and rice. For a healthier option i tried with oats and brown rice. I am trying to include more Whole grains & fiber rich meals in our diet. I regulary take oats, cracked wheat, whole wheat, finger millets, brown rice in any form but my kids & H not comfortable so to feed them i need to txperiment, then thought to mix this whole grains with their favorite Dosa/Idly/Adai/Pulao etc. And one such experiment turned out to this crispy, yummy & healthy Adai.
Here i used Brown Basmati rice but u can use regular brown rice also but the long grain ones gives nice crispy n tasty adais. You will not find any much difference in taste to that of regular Adai. its more filling and perfect for breakfast to kick start your day. But u can very well serve for dinner. Now to the recipe...

Brown Rice Ragi Idly - Diabetic Friendly Recipes !

Today wasn't in a mood to blog, my knee pain was more and not able to sit and do or concentrate on anything. I feel that i should take some break and look after my health. I was suffering with this knee pain for almost 4 years, yes i fell and got injured during my first pregnancy and that time i took Physiotherapy treatment to relieve from pain and did not diagnose the actual problem. Then after delivery with Infant and second pregnancy this and that...i did not look at my leg pain so far...Yesterday, got appointment and went to hospital and after 2 hours examination, She concluded that my knee got misalignment of ligaments and it can be cured by taking PT and made appointments till April end and hope for the good result. So till that i could not concentrate on blogging and blog hop so planning to take a short break.
Ok will move to today's recipe...Day 6 of Blogging Marathon and today's whole grain recipe nothing but very easy and simple Brown Rice Ragi Idly. I planned to make stuffed idly but because of this knee pain decided to lessen my job and finished with plain idly alone. I often make idly with brown rice and this time for a change added Ragi flour to my Brown Rice Idly batter . It turned out good but compared to idly dosa came out really good. My kids loved idlis more than the dosa.
